Lady Mustangs clip Bath11-5 to advance to Championship game

The Penn Yan Mustang softball team will have a chance to win a Section V Class BB championship title. 

The  No. 2 seed Lady Mustangs defeated the  No. 6 seed Bath Haverling Lady Rams 11-5 in a semifinal game played at Monroe Community College on Tuesday evening to advance to the final. 

They will take on the No. 1 seed Aquinas team at M.C.C.  The Irish girls shutout Waterloo 4-0 to advance to play Penn Yan.    

Penn Yan Senior Kate Disbrow provided the offensive spark for the Lady Mustangs in their big win over Bath.  She collected three hits and drove in a run.  Disbrow also scored runs of her own. 

Rachel Angell also had a huge game at the plate, driving four huge runs with two doubles. Penn Yan ace, Bri Bush was the winning pitcher, scattering five hits and striking out eight.  

The Lady Mustangs sports a 15-7 record going into the Section V title game.
