Collins Classic players set

Organizers of the Tony Collins Class of ‘77 Golf Classic have announced the former professional football players who will be participating in the tournament on Friday, July 8.

Penn Yan Mustang alumni Tony Collins and Cris Crissy (Redskins) will be joined by Stanley Morgan (Patriots), Mark Duper (Dolphins), Irving Fryer (Patriots), Ronnie Lippett (Patriots), Roland James (Patriots), Garvin Veris (Patriots), Vernon Crawford (Patriots), Ben Coates (Patriots), E.J. Junior (Dolphins), Raymond Claybourne (Patriots),  Stephen Starring (Patriots) and Bob King (Penn Yan golf pro).

A Celebrity Social will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 7 at the Penn Yan Moose Lodge, 301 east Elm St.

Tournament day begins with Football Combine and Cheer Clinic, free to all children ages 7 to 18. The camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at Penn Yan Academy Sports Complex.

Activities at Lakeside Country Club begin with registration and a light lunch at 11:30 a.m. The celebrity auction is set for 12:30 p.m. with the tee-off following immediately.

A steak dinner will be held after the tournament at the Loyal Order of the Moose in Penn Yan at the conclusion of the tournament.

The Tony Collins Foundation is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to the creation and support of programs which inspire academic and athletic achievement in the youth of Penn Yan and the Finger Lakes region. Last year the foundation distributed over $12,000 to programs serving Penn Yan and Finger Lakes youth.
