The Penn Yan Mustangs routed the Dundee Scots' 4-0 on Saturday morning,

spoiling the Scots' bid to win their homecoming game.

Penn Yan junior Sam Steinert scored a goal with assists on goals by

freshman Courtney Lafler 10 minutes into the first half and senior

Leah Swarthout 10 minutes into the second half. Freshman Ashley Jensen

assisted Steinert's goal with 20 minutes remaining in the second half.

Freshman Kayli Harling also scored at the 30 minute mark in the first

half off a pass from sophomore Mati Ponsetti.

Penn Yan junior goalkeeper Casanna Banach recorded the shutout behind a

six-save effort, while her Dundee counterpart Brooke Howell saved 20

shots.

Penn Yan's record improves to 3-3-2. Dundee's remains winless with a

0-4-1 record.

Penn Yan 0, Marcus Whitman 0 (2OT)

The Penn Yan Lady Mustangs and the Marcus Whitman Lady Wildcats played to a 0-0

tie on a Thursday that felt like summer turning to fall.

"Casanna (Banach) had great saves" said Penn Yan Coach Jill MacKerchar.

"We played a strong, hard fought game. Our girls kept their composure

and played our game. We had great opportunities, they unfortunately

just didn't go in the net."

With the ties, Penn Yan's record changes to 2-3-2.

Penn Yan 1, Honeoye 1 (2 OT)

Penn Yan senior Ashley Harling scored with 17 minutes remaining in the

first half on a pass from senior Amanda Rivera to eventually tie the

Honeoye Bulldogs 1-1 in double overtime Sept. 20.

Honeoye scored their lone goal on a penalty kick four minutes prior to

the Harling goal.

"It was a huge victory for our girls to come back after Honeoye scored

first" said Penn Yan coach Jill MacKerchar.

The Mustangs' record moves to 2-3-1 with the year.
