Volleyball: Dundee defeats Mynderse, Penn Yan falls twice

Dundee 3, Mynderse 0

The Dundee Scots won their PINK Game against Mynderse Oct. 12 with scores of 25-23, 25-19, and 25-15.

Dundee's senior outside hitters Brittany Jamison and Rennee Thomas combined for 21 service points, eight kills, and an ace. Junior setter Morgan Jensen had 10 assists, and freshman setter Olivia Taylor filled the stat sheet with nine service points, three kills and a block. Dundee junior outside hitter McKenna Hasting had 12 service points and four kills. Mynderse junior middle hitter Meghan Felice had two aces, six kills and three digs.

Dundee hosts the PINK game each year to increase breast cancer awareness. This year, Dundee raised just over $300 for the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund.

This was Dundee's first league win of the year.

Romulus 3, Dundee 0

The Romulus Warriors defeated the Dundee Scots with scores of 25-5, 25-18, and 25-22 Oct. 14.

No player statistics were made available for this game.

Dundee's record falls to 1-8 in the Finger Lakes West division and 4-10 overall, while the Warriors' record jumps to 8-2 in the Finger Lakes West and 10-6 overall.

Geneva 3, Penn Yan 0

The Penn Yan Mustangs fell to the Geneva Panthers Oct. 13 in a Finger Lakes East divisional matchup, losing in three sets to scores of 18-25,13-25, and 23-25.

Penn Yan juniors middle hitter Maren Miles filled the stat sheet five aces, three kills, and two blocks, while outside hitter Taylor Travis had three aces and eight kills.

Panther senior outside hitter Ty Bluto had one ace, seven kills, and five digs, while classmate defensive specialist Courtney Biehls had two aces and five digs. Junior setter Sara Pieniezak had seven kills and three digs.

With the loss, Penn Yan remained winless in the Finger Lakes East division, while sitting at 3-11 overall. Geneva jumps to a 3-10 overall record for the year.

Newark 3, Penn Yan 0

The Newark Reds defeated the Mustangs 25-15, 25-19, and 25-12 in a Finger Lakes East divisional matchup played on Oct. 11 in Newark.

Newark junior setter Maria Croft had 16 aces and nine assists, while outside hitters Sierra Graham and Autumn Hackere combined for 10 kills.

Mustang sophomore outside hitter Shelby Goodell had five aces while junior rightside hitter Alyssa Pizzenti added three kills.
