Penn Yan Boys begin season with 47-37 victory over Waterloo

The Penn Yan Boys Basketball team won their first regular season basketball game 47-37 over the Waterloo Indians at home on Dec. 6.

Penn Yan led 21-18 at halftime and gradually built their lead in the second half, outscoring Waterloo by seven to go on to win.

Penn Yan senior Dylan Yonts and sophomore Shane Bloom both hit three three point shots to lead the Mustangs in scoring with 15 and 11 points. Mustang senior guard Cody Richardson scored nine points, while classmate Nate Spoor earned six points for Penn Yan.

Waterloo's Zarrien Sloan and Brandon Frank both scored 14 points to lead the Indians.

Penn Yan begins its season at 1-0.
