Penn Yan Bowling: Boys and Girls Post Good Week against Waterloo and Mynderse

The Penn Yan Bowling squads faced off last week against teams from Waterloo and Mynderse Academy.

The Mustang Boys bowled well against Waterloo, defeating the Indians 5-2 with a 2,934-2,908 overall score. Dan Fox bowled a 279 en route to a match of 698, while Derrick Fleischman bowled a 603. Sophomores Pete Fox and Cody Button rolled matches of 577 and 576 respectively. Waterloo was led by Dan Lee and Cameron Felice, who had matches of 680 and 598.

Following their win over Waterloo, the Mustangs traveled to Seneca Falls, where they swept the Mynderse Blue Devils 7-0 by a score of 2,918-2,130. Fleischman led Penn Yan with a 695, while Pete Fox bowled a 651 for Penn Yan. Mynderse was led by Chris Plate, who bowled a 480, while Dylan Kelsey had the best game for the Blue Devils, bowling a 222.

Meanwhile, the Mustangs' Girls team defeated Waterloo 4-3 with a 2,263-2,147 overall score. Brooke Parsons led both teams with a 575 match, while Courtney Ottaviano and Kelsey Sage bowled matches of 496 and 463. The Indians were led by Amber Maddox's 466 match, while teammate Jackie Fenik bowled a 440.

The Girls' team went on to sweep Mynderse Academy 7-0 with an overall score of 2,082-1,765. Penn Yan was led by Ottaviano, who bowled a 488, while Parsons bowled a 476. Alicia Comstock led the Blue Devils with a match score of 578.

The Mustang Boys' record rises to 38-4, while the Girls' record is now 25-17.
