Section V Track & Field: Weeden wins 400M

The combined Wayne-Finger Lakes League made for increased competition for area track teams this season. No one could stop the Pal-Mac boys and the Red Jacket girls, who each finished the season with a flawless 52-0 record.

Penn Yan’s Chris Weeden won the 400 (50.94) as the Mustang boys finished 10th out of 16 teams and the girls finished 16th out of 22 teams.

Weeden earned eight points for his second place finish in the 800M.

The Dundee boys finished 14 out of 16 teams.

Others who scored points were:

• Heather Anderson, who finished fifth in the 200 M, for four points

• Evelyn Pinneo finished fifth in the 3000 M for four points and fifth in the 2000M steeplechase for four points.

• Jon Huber of Dundee finished seventh in the 100M for two points

• Michael Koehler of Dundee finished eigth in the 100M for one point and eighth in the 400M for one point.

• Peter Tomlinson of Penn Yan earned a point for his eighth place finish in the 3000M steeplechase.

• The Dundee boys 4x100 relay team earned three points for their sixth place finish.

• The Penn Yan boys 4x400 relay team earned two points for its seventh place finish.

• The Mustangs 4x800 relay team earned four points for a fifth place finish.

• Taylor Miller, who place eighth in the high jump earned .5 point, earned four points for a fifth place finish in the pole vault and one point for his eighth place finish in the long jump.

• John Kissell of Dundee finished fifth in the shot put, earning four points. He earned four points for his fifth place finish in discus.

• Greg Ellison of Dundee finished seventh in the shot put, earning two points. He placed fourth in the discus to earn five points.
