Softball: Penn Yan to host Midlakes Friday

The Penn Yan Lady Mustang softball team is the second seed in their Class B1 Tournament behind No. 1 seed Charlotte. They begin their post season play at 4:30 p.m. Friday in Penn Yan against  No. 7 seed Midlakes.

The Penn Yan Lady Mustangs defeated Midlakes 8-0 May 16 when Amanda Rivera hit a two-run double and Bri Bush struck out eight batters.

Penn Yan defeated Wayne 15-7 May 18 when Bree Sherman had a grand slam and Bri Bush doubled, singled, scored three runs and drove in two for the win.

Dundee split a double header with Bloomfield May 18 with a 16-11 win and a 10-8 loss. Lauren Howell went 2-for-4. Liz Curran, Sam Clark and Megan Lynn each had three hits.

The Dundee softball team, ranked #8, hosts #9 HAC at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 23.
