Sprints, stars at Yates Speedway

Chris Silvers found the Yates County victory lane for the first time in his career Aug. 1. Silvers led all 25 laps en route to the victory. Roger Kerrick returned to victory lane in the Street Stock feature after a 20-plus- year hiatus. Eddie Sites picked up his first IMCA Modified win of the season at the speedway. In the Late Models, Brian Knowles returned to victory lane. Scott Bradley won a thrilling four cylinder feature, while Allison Teed remained undefeated in the bandits.

The next event on the calendar will be one of the biggest events of the year as it will be the 7th Annual MRO Celebrity Drivers Night. A number of celebrity drivers will be in attendance, signing autographs and racing as well.

The Patriot Sprint Car Tour makes its annual stop at the speedway, and will be joined by a full night of features only for the other divisions. The Sportsman will be competing in a Survivor Race. Race time Friday, Aug. 8 will be at 7 p.m. For more information, visit www.yatescountyspeedway.com
