Girl's Lacrosse: Penn Yan defeats Waterloo 10-6 in Class C Semifinals

Mustangs will play HF-L for Sectional crown May 27

The Penn Yan Mustang girl's lacrosse team will be headed for the Section V Class C championship game again. On Thursday afternoon in Seneca Falls, the #1 seed Penn Yan Mustangs defeated the #4 seed Waterloo Indians 10-6 to advance to the finals. The Orange and Blue jumped out quickly and built up an early 5-1 lead. They extended their lead to 10-4 in the second half in this penalty filled game. Waterloo mounted a late comeback bid, but came up short.

Penn Yan will play the # seed Honeoye Falls-Lima team in the finals HF/L defeated #3 Pal-Mac in the other semifinal contest Thursday. The game will be played Wednesday, May 27 at Eastridge High in Rochester at a time to be determined.

Mustangs fall to #1 Livonia

The Penn Yan Mustang tennis team was shutout 5-0 by the #1 seed Livonia team in the Section V Class B tournament match Wednesday in Livonia. The Mustangs were eliminated from the tourney with this loss. The Orange and Blue doubles team of Noah Terpolilli and Garrett Warren played extremely well in their match. They extended their Livonia opponents to three tough sets before falling 10-8 in the final set. Penn Yan ends their season with a 4-9 record.
