Wolves post stellar fall semester in the classroom

54 Keuka College student-athletes achieve perfect 4.0 GPAs

The Keuka College women’s soccer team led the way in student athlete academic achievement with 10 players having a perfect 4.0 grade point average in the Empire 8 Conference.

KEUKA PARK — Despite the challenges that 2020 had posed, the student-athletes at Keuka College continued to excel in the classroom.

The Empire 8 Conference published their President’s List for the fall semester and Keuka College was well represented. In total, 131 student-athletes from Keuka College posted a grade point average of 3.75 or above in the fall to earn the honor.

The 131 student-athletes ranked Keuka College fourth in the nine-team conference. Overall, the Department of Athletics posted a 3.37 grade point average, up from 3.27 that the Wolves had during the 2019-20 academic year.

Fifty-four student-athletes had a perfect 4.0 GPA for the fall. The women’s soccer team led the way with 10 having a perfect grade point average. Women’s volleyball was second with eight, and men’s soccer wrapped up the top three with seven student-athletes getting a 4.0.

Individual teams were also honored by the Empire 8. Those who had a 3.20 grade point average or higher were also named to the President’s List. Keuka had nine of their 14 varsity teams make the mark. The dance team led the way with a 3.74 grade point average as a team. Women’s soccer was in second with a 3.71 and women’s basketball was third with a 3.62 grade point average as a team. Baseball was the top male sport with a 3.57 GPA. Also earning the honor were the softball team, women’s volleyball, women’s lacrosse, men’s soccer, and the cheerleading team.

Keuka College's spring semester is underway, and the student-athletes are back on campus and excited for the spring. The schedule for the Wolves currently has March 5 as the first scheduled game, with women’s basketball traveling to Nazareth College, and men’s basketball hosting Nazareth.
