Coach Mike Rahr to head Keuka College X-country teams

KEUKA PARK — The Keuka College Department of Athletics has announced that veteran high school coach Mike Rahr will be the college's new men's and women's cross country coach.

Veteran high school coach Mike Rahr will be Keuka College's new men's and women's cross country coach.

Coach Rahr brings 44 years of coaching experience to Keuka College. He began his career in 1977 at Canisteo-Greenwood Central School, where he coached seven different sports at multiple levels before retiring in 2020. He spent 18 seasons leading the cross country team.

During his tenure, Canisteo-Greenwood won four Section V Cross Country Championships, and its boys' cross country team racked up a 96-meet winning streak. In total, he coached 101 seasons of high school sports.

Keuka College's cross country teams will compete in their first season as a full member of the Empire 8 Conference this fall. The Wolves will compete in September and October in preparation for the 2021 Empire 8 Championship. The conference championship will be hosted by Russell Sage College at the Washington County Fairgrounds.
