The Penn Yan Mustang boy's basketball team closed out the 2014 portion of their season with a big come from behind win over Churchville-Chili Tuesday evening in the consolation game of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Holiday Tournament.

The win was anything but easy for the Orange and Blue cagers. Penn Yan trailed by 18 points with the 3rd quarter winding down. But the Mustang hardwood crew rallied to tie the score in regulation and neatly pulled out a 79-75 win in the 5-minute overtime period. The win quickly put the local five back on the winning track. Penn Yan had suffered their first loss of the season the night before to Livonia in the opening round game of the tournament. It was a little holiday magic for the Mustangs, and a nice way to ring out the old year and head into an exciting 2015.

Junior Sean Emerson was the high scorer for the Mustangs with 21 points. Ben Covert notched 19 points and pulled down 10 big rebound to help spark the Mustang comeback. Tanner Irwin added 16 points to the winning effort.

The win improves Penn Yan's record to 6-1. They will return to Finger Lakes East action next week against rival Geneva.
