Girl's Basketball: Penn Yan girls fall to No. 1 Livonia 64-38

The 2014-15 basketball season has come to an end for the Penn Yan Mustang girl's basketball team. The Mustangs were defeated by Livonia 64-38 Wednesday evening in Livonia. With the loss, Penn Yan's season comes to an end. The Orange and Blue cagers were facing a difficult task in this Section V tilt. They were the No. 17 seed in the tourney and Livonia was the top ranked team in the Class B bracket. The Mustangs reached this contest by defeating Marcus Whitman in a play-in game Monday evening.

The Bulldogs quickly showed why they are the No. 1 team. They jumped out to a convincing 30-13 margin in the first 16 minutes. They continued to pull away in the second half, outscoring the Yates County five, 34-25. With the tournament loss, Penn Yan ends their campaign with a 2-19 record.

Penn Yan senior Elizabeth Wunder tossed in 12 points in her final high school basketball game. She was Penn Yan's top scorer. Sydney Bloom added 9 points while Kayli Harding and Kendall Neuberger contributed 7 and 6 points respectively.
