High School Basketball: Penn Yan teams fall to Mynderse; Dundee boys defeat Bradford

Both Penn Yan varsity basketball teams fell to Mynderse on the courts Friday evening. 

Boy's Basketball

Mynderse 57 Penn Yan 38

The Penn Yan Mustang boy's basketball team played host to the Mynderse Blue Devils in a Finger Lakes East match Feb. 3 in Penn Yan. The first place Blue Devils were in control of this game most of the way en route to a 57-38 victory. The loss dropped Penn Yan's record in the league to 3-8 and 8-9 overall. Mynderse improves to 17-1.

Juniors Cade Curbeau and Dylan Stape topped the Mustang scoring sheet with 11 points each.

Dundee 49 Bradford 39

The Dundee Scot boy's basketball team defeated Bradford 49-39 in a non-league contest played in Dundee Feb. 2. The win gives the Scotsmen a 10-6 record going into the final week of the regular season

Bobby Strait led the Scots in scoring with 18 points. Wylie Hall and Kyle Cratsley added 8 points each. 

Girl's Basketball

Mynderse 56 Penn Yan 41

The Penn Yan Mustang girl's basketball team traveled to Seneca Falls to take on the talented Blue Devil girls in a Finger Lakes East showdown Feb. 3. The host team Blue Devils used to 35-20 run in the second and third quarters to pull away to a 56-41 victory. Mynderse is 10-1 in Finger Lakes East action while Penn Yan falls to 7-4. The Mustang girl's are 9-8 overall.

Sydney Bloom led the Penn Yan offense with 12 points. Emily Wunder added 9 points.
