High School Bowling: Dundee girls clinch title

The Dundee Scots girl’s bowling team defeated Bloomfield 7-0 at Roseland Bowl in Hopewell Feb. 3. The shutout win improved Dundee’s season record to 61-9 and clinched the Finger Lakes West title for the Dundee girls. Ayla Lane led the Scots to the clinching win with a 521 series including a 208 game. Caitlyn Cornish added a 186 and Laura Miller a 182 for the victorious Scots.

Penn Yan 7 Geneva 0

The Mustang girl’s team blanked the Panthers Wednesday. Courtney Ottaviano provided a 598 series (189-176-233). Kari Ayers posted a 527 (184-197).

Penn Yan 7 Lyons 0

The Mustang girls blanked Lyons 7-0. Courtney Ottaviano led the Orange and Blue bowlers with a 474 (183). Kari Ayers also added a 183 single game. Penn Yan improves their season record to 54-37 with the wins.

Boy’s Bowling

With the regular season nearing a completion, the Penn Yan Mustang bowling teams continued to do something they have done quite regularly this season .... Win. The Orange and Blue keglers swept to two more victories last week, matches against Geneva Tuesday and Lyons Wednesday.

Wednesday afternoon at Sunset Bowl in Geneva, the Mustang boy’s team shutout the Panthers 7-0. Bryce Johnson rolled a 659 ( 238-212-209) to lead the Mustangs. Alex Gurba added a 638 (246-201) while Steven Ottaviano and Jacob Whitford contributed games of 222 and 204 respectively.

Penn Yan 7 Lyons 0

The next afternoon in Newark at Rose Bowl, Penn Yan posted a 7-0 shutout win over Lyons in a non-league encounter. For the Mustang boy’s team (82-9), Jacob Whitford rolled a 590 series (235-202) and Alex Gurba contributed a 578 (224). Bryce Johnson added a 234 single game and Nick Johnson a 230.

Dundee 7 Bloomfield 0

The Dundee Scots boy’s bowling team also made a statement Tuesday in Hopewell. The Scotsmen keglers defeated first place Bloomfield 7-0. Dustin Anderson rolled a 507 (179) to pace the Dundee winning numbers. Ryan Goodman added a 497 series (168-160-169). The win improved Dundee’s season mark to 53-17. They are still in the running for a Finger Lakes West title of their own.
