Penn Yan 241 Newark 278

The Penn Yan Mustang boy's golf team defeated Newark 241 - 278 Sept. 19 at Lakeside Country Club in Penn Yan. John Travis was the Mustang's top golfer, shooting a 42. Alex Gurba added a 46 while Bryce Johnson carded a 48. Peter Nicholson and Max Brodman shot 51 and 54 respectively.

Wayne 222 Penn Yan 241

On Sept. 22 Penn Yan dropped a 222-241 decision to Wayne at Lakeside. Bryce Johnson shot a 38 while John Travis carded a 44 for Penn Yan. the Mustang's season record now stands at 3-6.

Girl's Tennis

Penn Yan 5 Waterloo 0

The Penn Yan Mustang girl's tennis team shutout Waterloo 5-0 at home Sept. 23. Riley Pallar, Victoria Staff, and Marina Coriale won their singles matches in straight sets. The Mustang doubles teams of Shelby Woodard/Katy Worden and Brittany Gavigan/Ana Walkup also picked up wins for the Orange and Blue. Sept. 19, the Penn Yan girls were shutout by Pal/Mac 5-0 in Penn Yan.

Marcus Whitman 4 Geneva 1

 The Marcus Whitman girl's tennis team defeated Geneva 4-1 in Geneva Sept. 23. For the Wildcats, Alaina Dhondt and Caty Goodman won their singles matches. The Whitman doubles teams of Kayleigh Hight/Brandi Johnson and Danielle Anderson/Camry Semans also won their matches.

Mynderse 5 Marcus Whitman 0

Earlier in the week, Marcus Whitman was shutout by Mynderse 5-0 at home and also dropped a 4-1 decision to North Rose/Wolcott in Wolcott on Wednesday. Caty Goodman picked up Whitman's sole point in the 3rd singles match.


Penn Yan 3 Hammondsport 0

The Penn Yan Mustang girl's volleyball team defeated Hammondsport 3-0 in a non-league game played in Penn Yan Sept. 21. Penn Yan's Elissa Callaway recorded 8 service aces to lead the Orange and Blue netsters.

Pal-Mac 3 Penn Yan 1

On Thursday afternoon in Penn Yan, Pal-Mac defeated Penn Yan 3-1. Emily Wunder recorded 21 kills, 5 blocks, and 19 digs to lead Penn Yan. Sydney Bloom added 4 kills and 16 digs. Brenna Voigt added 3 aces, 3 kills, and 26 assists while Caitlin Wunder contributed 6 kills. Penn Yan's record stands at 1-4 in league play and 3-4 overall.
