Boy's Lacrosse: Penn Yan defeats Bath 14-4

The Penn Yan Mustang boy's lacrosse team rolled to their 7th win of the season April 30 with a convincing 14-4 win over the Bath Haverling Rams. The first half of the game was closely contested with the Orange and Blue holding a close 5-1 lead at the half. But the Mustangs outscored the hometown Rams 9-3 in the second half to waltz away with the victory over their southern neighbors.

Sean Emerson led the Penn Yan scoring parade with 5 goals and 4 assists. Craig Gerhardt added 3 goals while Ben Covert chipped in 2 goals and 3 assists. The Fingar boys, Conner and Austin, recorded 1 goal/2 assists and 2 goals/4 assists respectively. Tate Stewart rounded out the scoring sheet with a goal and an assist. Gage Ponsetti had 5 saves in goal for Penn Yan.

The Mustangs improve their season to 7-3 with the win. They will travel to Buffalo Saturday afternoon to take St. Joseph Academy.

The Marcus Whitman Wildcats dropped a 18-1 decision to Wayne on Thursday . The Wildcats are 0-10 in Finger Lakes League action this season.

Lane Brown scored the sole Whitman goal in this contest. Goaltender Zack LaBarr recorded 15 saves.
