Girl's Lacrosse: Penn Yan girls clinch Finger Lakes I League title with 14-5 win over Geneva

The Penn Yan Mustang girl's lacrosse team clinched the Finger Lakes I League championship outright with a convincing 14-5 win over Geneva in Penn Yan Friday. Penn Yan is undefeated in league play with a 12-0 record. They are 13-1 overall.

Friday's win was keyed by a 4-goal scoring outburst by Courtney Lafler. Heather Conklin added 3 goals and 1 assist while Mara Keech added 2 goals. Brie Yonge and Sydney Bloom also tallied goals. Jessica Covell stopped 7 Geneva shots in goal for Penn Yan.

Marcus Whitman 13 Eastridge 6

The Marcus Whitman Wildcat girl's lacrosse team picked a non-league 13-6 win over Eastridge in Gorham Friday afternoon. Emily Thompson led the Wildcats in scoring with a 3 goal, 2 assist effort. Liz Cooley had 11 saves in goal for Marcus Whitman The Wildcats record stands at 4-10.
