Boy's Soccer: Tough second week for Mustangs and Wildcats

The Penn Yan Mustang and Marcus Whitman boy's soccer teams experienced a tough second week of the season.

Pal-Mac 2 Penn Yan 1

On Tuesday, Sept. 13 at home, the Mustangs fell to Pal-Mac 2-1. This was their first Finger Lakes East match of the season. Alex Theismeyer tallied the lone Penn Yan goal. Brandon Smith picked up an assist. Jackson Arnold stopped 8 shots in goal for Penn Yan.

Wayne 3 Penn Yan 0

On Thursday, Sept. 15 in Ontario Center, Wayne shut out Penn Yan 3-0. Jackson Arnold recorded 15 saves in goal for the Mustangs. The loss dropped Penn Yan's Finger Lakes East mark to 0-2. They are 3-4 overall.

Naples 6 Marcus Whitman 0

The Marcus Whitman Wildcat boy's soccer team was defeated by Naples 6-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 13 in Gorham. Tim Cornish and Zachary Payne combined for 17 saves in goal for the Wildcats.

Marcus Whitman 3 South Seneca/Romulus 3

Two days later, Whitman and South Seneca/Romulus battled to a 3-3 tie in Ovid. tyler Rasmussen, Ian Bator, Connor McDonough, and Nicholas Young scored the wildcat goals. Tim Cornish stopped 10 shots in goals for Whitman. The Wildcats are 1-4-1 this season.
