Molly and Claire Pullen of Penn Yan came into the Class B2 Doubles Sectionals Championship as the #1 seed based on winning the championship the last two seasons and their play in singles this season.

They did not disappoint as they took the title for the third straight year, defeating #2 seed Katie Smith and Andra Savage of Pal-Mac Saturday at the Mendon Racquet Club.

The Pullens took the match 6-1, 6-2. Coach Nate Kraemer was effusive in his description of the pair, saying, “They are exceptional players who work well together as a doubles team,” he said. “They work hard all year for this. I’m so proud of them and all they’ve accomplished.”

The twins turned around Monday to try to help their team defeat HAC and win a team title as well. Penn Yan played HAC for the championship at 4 p.m. at the Canandaigua Middle School.
