Penn Yan Volleyball defeats Geneva

The Penn Yan Mustang girl’s volleyball continued their winning ways Oct. 12 with a 3-0 win over Finger Lakes East foe Geneva in Penn Yan.

Penn Yan 3 Geneva 0

Emily Wunder led the Penn Yan winning attack with 20 kills, 15 assists, 13 digs, and 1 block. Sydney Bloom added 5 kills, 14 assists, and 12 digs. Elissa Callaway also had 6 kills and 5 digs. Penn Yan improves to 11-3 overall and 6-3 in FL East League play.

Wayne 3 Penn Yan 1

The Penn Yan Mustang volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to Wayne in Ontario Center Oct. 10. The 4 set win over the Orange and Blue extended Wayne’s winning streak to 12. They are 12-0 overall and hold down first place in the Finger Lakes East with a 10-0 record. Penn Yan falls to 10-3 overall. Emily Wunder led the Penn Yan effort with 17 kills, 21 digs, 9 assists, and 9 blocked shots. Sydney Bloom added 10 kills, 14 assists, 18 digs, and 3 aces.

Bloomfield 3 Dundee 0

The Bloomfield Bomber girl’s volleyball team shutout Dundee 3-0 in Dundee Oct. 12. Megan Sutherland recorded 1 kill, 4 assists, and 2 aces for the Scots. Elizabeth Medina added 1 dig , 1 ace, and 2 digs while teammate Sarah Boudinot chipped in 1 kill, 1 block, and 1 ace.

Mynderse 3 Dundee 2

Mynderse traveled to Dundee for a Finger Lakes West contest against the hometown Scot volleyball girls. In a very competitive match, the Blue Devils prevailed 3-2 in 5 sets. MacKenzie Strait recorded 1 attack, 3 assists, 1 block, and 1 ace for Dundee. Sarah Boudinot contributed 1 dig, 2 attacks, 1 assist, and 2 aces. Elizabeth Medina also played well for Dundee adding 3 digs, 1 attack, 1 assist, and 1 ace.
