Admission tonight at Black Rock Speedway is canned goods donation
Bring your cans to Black Rock Speedway tonight where it is Black Rock Speedway’s annual FREE General Admission night at the ‘Fast Four-Tenths-Mile’ in Dundee, NY. The twist in 2015 for FREE night is that fans will exchange two to four canned food items for free admission to the night’s racing activities.
Adult General Admission will be a donation of four canned food items while Seniors 65 and over as well as children ages 12-17 will be admitted free with two canned food items. All donations from the canned food drive will stay right in Dundee as the Dundee Food Pantry will receive the generous donation from the speedway and their fans.
“This is a win-win-win situation for the community, the race fans and the speedway,” said Black Rock Speedway Business Manager Sue Foster.
“The speedway is a big part of the community and the community has wrapped their arms around us in our first year promoting. We wanted to find a way for the speedway to give back to the community and this is where we landed. The food pantry will be able to better help those in need, our fans will get to see a full card of racing essentially free of charge plus the speedway gets to bring in new fans to show them what we can do in the hopes that they will want to come back.”
The card will be highlighted by the third consecutive week of Big Block/Small Block Modifieds, Crate Sportsman, Morseman Racing Chassis Street Stocks, M&M Auto Sales & Service IMCA Modifieds, NAPA Know How 4 Cylinders and Creekside Entertainment Bandits.
Ron Cartwright Jr played the tire compound game to perfection last Friday night and scored the win over Eric Fisher. Cartwright assumed the point lead as well taking a 1 point lead over Fisher and a 2 point lead over Penn Yan’s Derrick Podsiadlo.
2014 Crate Sportsman champion Casey Pavlick picked up win number one on the season last week, taking the point lead as well. Pavlick scooted by Rob Humphreys with three laps to go and has a pretty commanding lead as he stands 12 points over Jake Dgien.
Jared Hill took the point lead in the MRC Street Stocks last week after a post-race inspection stripped Jake Karlnoski of last week’s win. Hill and Tracy Dunn carry a 10 and 8 point lead over Geneva, NY’s CJ Guererri. Gene Balmer, LaVerne Knickerbocker and Chuck Winslow are all going to be looking for redemption this week in what could be one of the best features of the night!
Rich Karlnoski took the momentum of a Black Rock win last Friday and nearly turned it into a win at the Northeast Shootout at Weedsport Speedway on Sunday. ‘Dick in the Dirt’ has a 1 point edge on Keith Lamphere as both drivers have scored wins in 2015.
James Kreidler III finally snapped Rich Sharpsteen’s impressive streak of feature wins last week on the Dundee clay. Sharpsteen has only a 1 point advantage on 2014 champion Scott Bradley but it’s still early in the season.
Jeff Daugherty has made it 2-for-2 at both of his dirt track stops so far in 2015- winning twice at Black Rock Speedway and Woodhull Raceway in Bandit competition. He goes for the hat trick this Friday night at 7 p.m.
