There may be two handsets, one with a standard keyboard, the other a touchscreen.
NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- We know what is coming and we knew when it was coming. But now we also know exactly where we'll be able to see the final versions.
The people at Research In Motion(:RIMM) have sent out invitations to what they're calling "The BlackBerry Experience" -- the official unveiling of its brand-new operating system, BlackBerry 10. The event will take place in New York City on Jan. 30.
RIM has provided TheStreet with an early guided tour of the completely overhauled operating system software. You can watch my colleague James Rogers' video reports here and here.
I'm happy to report that we were all very impressed with what we were shown.
As for the hardware, we'll have to wait and see what form those will take. The big bets are on RIM introducing two new handsets, one with a modern version of the iconic BlackBerry QWERTY keyboard and another that's touchscreen.
We're planning to be at the event, in force, to bring you all the details.
