Thomas “Tom” Bailey, 93, died peacefully Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at the Penn Yan Manor.

Tom was born January 31, 1929 in Wellsboro, Pa. to Emma and Thomas Bailey.

Tom graduated from Mercersburg Academy, class of 1947. He attended Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, followed by Temple University Dental School where he received the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery, class of 1954. Tom also served in the U.S. Navy as a dentist.

Tom went on to practice dentistry with his father Dr. Thomas Bailey for many years. Besides spending time with family, Tom enjoyed golfing, traveling, boating and reading.

Tom was preceded in death by his first wife Beverly. Tom is survived by his wife Hannelore Wolcott-Bailey, children Nancy Bailey (Bruce Williams), Jeffrey (Catherine) Bailey, Susan Bailey, and grandchildren Jeremy Bailey, Lea Bailey, Julian Mizgala, Gabriel “Gabby” Mizgala, two great-grandchildren and two stepdaughters. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life service to be held Friday, September 30 at 3 p.m. at the Episcopal Church in Penn Yan. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
