Janice (Brown) Palace, 78, of Penn Yan, N.Y. passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023, at M M Ewing Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua, N.Y. Janice was born in Penn Yan on April 17, 1944, the daughter of the late, Harry and Dorothy (Moran) Brown. She graduated from Penn Yan Academy Class of 1962. She married Joseph Palace at St. Michael’s Church in Penn Yan on August 20, 1966.

She was the office manager and bookkeeper for Sutherland Builders in Penn Yan and had also worked for CVS until her retirement. Janice is survived by her daughter, Christine (Phillip) Neininger of Canandaigua; grandson, Aaron Neininger of Rochester, N.Y. and Matthew Neininger of Canandaigua; sister, Carol (Alfred) Meyers of Arlington, Texas; brothers, James Brown of Branchport, N.Y., William Brown and Robert (Jean) Brown both of Penn Yan; sister-in-law, Connie (Noel Gilheany) Carlo. Janice was predeceased by her father, Harry Brown in 1980; mother, Dorothy Brown in 1999; son, Joseph Palace Jr. in 1980 and husband, Joseph Palace Sr. in 1988.

Friends and family called from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Townsend-Wood & Zinger Funeral Home, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan, NY 14527. A memorial service and interment for the family will be held at St. Michael’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Janice’s memory to the Ronald McDonald House, 333 Westmoreland Dr., Rochester, NY 14620.
