JOAN GAYLE (BASS) REDDOUT

Joan Gayle (Bass) Reddout passed away suddenly on Monday, February 27, 2023. She was 72.

Joan was born to D. George and Angeline F. (Chantiny) Bass on August 8, 1950, and made their home in Reese, Mich. She graduated from Reese Highschool in 1968.

Known for her loving kindness and generosity, Joan was a natural caretaker. She found her calling in caring for clients who needed help the most in the Penn Yan, New York and Michigan areas.

What mattered most to her in the world was her family. She is survived by her children, Neil (Christeen) Freeland; and her daughter, Erika (Jamie) Sisson, both of Penn Yan, N.Y.; her grandchildren, Samantha (Michael) Marsh of Chambersburg, Pa.; Derek (Brandie) Sisson of Cadiz, Ky.; Ashley Sisson of Penn Yan; and Amanda (Holly) Davis of Penn Yan; Makenzie Haskins of Elmira, N.Y.; her great-grandchildren, Clynton and Grayson Marsh, Emmett Sisson, Porter and Dax Davis; her siblings, Leonard (Holly) Bass of Watrousvill, Mich.; Judy (Jim) Manning of Vassar, Mich.; Dean (Karen) Bass, of Bay City, Mich.; her sister-in-law, Ann Bass of Grimes, Iowa; and her nieces and nephews, Aaryn Richard (Dave Temple), Sara (Matt) Schwartz, Laura (Mark) Vollrath, and Emily Bass.

She will be deeply missed by her cousin, Alice Geister, and friends Dorothy Fredrick and Jake Reddout.

She was predeceased by her parents, D. George and Angeline F. Bass, and her brother, Jim Bass.

Joan enjoyed spending quality time with her beloved family, friends, and pets. She found joy in her hobbies, especially gardening and bird watching. But she never could pass up a good yard sale. Joan was talented at creating art and making friends anywhere she went.

A celebration of life will be held April 22, 2023, at the Penn Yan American Legion 2001 Himrod Rd, Penn Yan, NY 14527 from 2 – 5 p.m. Please stop by to celebrate the life of Joan Gayle (Bass) Reddout with her family.
