John R. Hurrin (“Jack”) was born September 21, 1935. He passed away in his home on Monday, September 19, 2022, at age 86 after battling cancer for several years.

He leaves his wife of 66 years, Gail; children, Debbie Wood and Sue Fiske; grandchildren, Greg (Kacy) Wood, Mitchel (Jess) Middlebrook, and Shannon (Colton) Tinsmon; great-grandchildren, Carter Wood, Brody Wood and Maisyn Middlebrook.

Jack grew up in Penn Yan, served in the US Navy, and retired from RG&E. He enjoyed summers at his cottage on Keuka Lake and spending time with his family. He enjoyed volunteering his time at the Henrietta Food Pantry. He was a calming presence who shared his many talents with his family.

He will be greatly missed by everyone.

Family and friends are invited to call, 10-12, Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services (3325 Winton Rd S). Jack’s memorial service will begin at 12 noon in the Interfaith Chapel of the funeral home. Interment will be private.
