PENN YAN -- Saturday, June 24 will see the sixth annual Books & Bikes Fest take place at Penn Yan Public Library. Kids are invited to bring their bikes, trikes, and scooters to ride in the library’s parking lot, which will be closed to cars. There will be free books, bike helmets, snacks, bike decorations, and surprises. The Penn Yan Police Department will be on hand to make sure kids’ new helmets fit properly, and new this year, families can enter to win a free Empire Pass courtesy of the Friends of Penn Yan Public Library. An Empire Pass gives free admission to New York State Parks for one vehicle.
FINGER LAKES – The Thompson Health Guild awarded scholarships to five 2023 college-bound seniors at its Annual Dinner on June 1. Each $2,000 scholarship went to a recipient majoring in a health-related field who must successfully complete their first college semester with the intent to continue in health care.

PENN YAN - The Keuka Lake Association, in conjunction with the Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Finger Lake Institute, are proud to announce they have restarted several water quality programs for 2023. These include: • Lake Water Sampling (each month – April thru October) The first sampling occurred on Wednesday April 26th and will continue each month through October.
MIDDLESEX – The Rochester Folk Art Guild will present its third annual summer Lecture on the Lawn Series at their East Hill Farm, 1445 Upper Hill Road, Middlesex, beginning May 28. Lectures will take place on Sunday afternoons at 2 p.m. and will feature local artists and thought leaders.
