Opening day at The Windmill

YATES COUNTY -- Opening day was extra special this year at The Windmill Farm and Craft Market. Several area officials and representatives from The Yates County Chamber of Commerce recently participated in a dedication ceremony unlike any observed in over 25 years.

Breakfast Benefit for Penn Yan/ Dundee Cheerleaders May 19 from 9-11 a.m. at Seneca Lake Duck Hunters -- A wonderful breakfast held at the Seneca Lake Duck Hunters to help us raise money for the Penn Yan/Dundee Cheerleaders. Tickets are $10 each. There is also a bake sale and 50/50 during breakfast. Tickets available from any Penn Yan/ Dundee cheerleader, The Nest Egg in Penn Yan, The Trail’s End Diner in Dresden, and The Duck Club.

Harrison Fitch, Student of the Month

The Penn Yan Rotary Club was pleased to honor Penn Yan Middle School 7th grader Harrison Fitch as Student of the Month on Tuesday, May 9th, at the Lakeside Country Club in Penn Yan. For many of the months in each school year the club honors an outstanding Penn Yan student who demonstrates The Rotary Four Way Test, which values truth, fairness, and beneficial actions which build goodwill and friendships.

Yates 4-H Geo-Caching Group Adds Caches on the Outlet Trail

YATES COUNTY - Did you know the Yates County 4-H Program has a geo-caching group? Geo-caching combines outdoor exploration with GPS technology and orienteering skills. With the use of a handheld GPS unit or via an app downloaded on a smartphone, participants are able to take part in a modern-day treasure hunt, using GPS coordinates to find hidden items, called caches.
