HONORS LISTS Elmira College Elmira College released its Dean’s List for Academic Achievement for the Winter 2023 Term. The Dean’s List recognizes full-time undergraduate students who were registered for at least 12 computable credit hours and who earned a term grade point average of 3.6 or higher.

Keuka Outlet Trail Membership Breakfast

PENN YAN - Friends of the Outlet will be sharing a hearty, all-you-can-eat breakfast at the Penn Yan Moose Lodge on Sunday, May 7 from 8 to 10 a.m. Over pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, coffee, and juices, friends and members of the Keuka Outlet Trail will be celebrating the 200th Anniversary of Yates County while renewing a commitment to the legendary trail and its adjacent waterway that flows through the heart of Yates County and connects two of the larger Finger Lakes.

The Penn Yan Theatre Company is bringing home the oldest of family dramas with their production of Stephen Schwartz’s classic musical Children of Eden this summer, and they need your help to bring it to life! Shelter of Hope Adoptable Pets

Marmaduke is a 7-yearold male German Shepherd Mix. He has spent most of his life outdoors on a chain and could use some help with house manners, but he learns quickly and is very sweet! Porsha is a 7-year-old female cat who has lived in the same home her entire life.

UPCOMING EVENTS

APRIL 28 Tree Dedication Ceremony The public is invited to attend a special Arbor Day tree dedication ceremony on Friday, April 28 at 1 p.m. at the Yates County History Center, 107 Chapel Street in Penn Yan. The tree planting is a Yates County bicentennial celebration event. The apple tree, a rare heirloom variety, is named for Abraham Wagener, who first propagated the trees in Yates County 200 years ago.

Annual Exhibit Highlights Student Talent

The talent of up-and-coming young artists around the county will be celebrated in April at the Arts Center’s annual Student Art Exhibit. Featuring work by high school and middle school students in Penn Yan, Dundee and Marcus Whitman school districts, the exhibit showcases the creativity brought out in art classes and clubs in each school.
