On the occasion of its 15th anniversary of compassionate end-of-life service to the residents of Keuka Lake and the surrounding area, Keuka Comfort Care Home celebrates all those who have contributed to this occasion. Once only a dream of six local couples, and thanks to the investment of an entire community, today KCCH is an established, respected, lifeline to those in their final days and their families. With age comes maturity, experience and stability, as well as the challenges of replenishment and the continuation of high-quality service to those in need.

Conway is an 11-month-old German Short-haired Pointer mix. This pup is a bit shy at first but gets very happy once you take him for a walk. Conway is great on the leash and also enjoys a game of fetch.

Finger Lakes Health honored Lyndsy Brown, RN, who works in the Dialysis Unit at Geneva General Hospital, with “The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses.” “I consider Lyndsy the heart and soul of the Dialysis Unit. She is a wonderful, caring person with amazing abilities, understanding her patient’s needs and anxieties regarding their dialysis! Lyndsy has the respect of her co-workers.

NAPLES – December 11, Veterans and friends gathered at Naples VFW Post 8726 to honor three veterans who participated in the annual Wounded Warrior Hunt, a program spearheaded by Rick Sawyer, Naples native and Commander of Post 8726.

PENN YAN - Cornell Cooperative Extension of Yates County held their annual 4-H Achievement Ceremony on November 13th. Awards recognized 4-H members, leaders, parents, and volunteers for their hard work, accomplishments, and dedication to the Yates County 4-H program during the past 4-H year. Congratulations to the following award recipients:

DUNDEE - Alayna Tormey whose parents are Abigail & Nathan Tormey, was chosen as the November Dundee Elementary Student of the Month. “Alayna exhibits all of the Dundee Central School desired character traits of respect, responsibility, engagement, and empathy,” says Elementary Principal Tiffany Cohrs.

PENN YAN – Over Veterans Day weekend, Relative Risk Brewing Co., Bravery Wines, and Kashong Glen Vineyards hosted a “Salute to Veterans” fundraiser to support initiatives in Yates County, like the Veterans Transportation Network that drives veterans to and from medical appointments.
