Clean Energy Communities grant for Yates

Only the fifth county in state to receive $10K points-based CEC grant Yates County has been awarded a $10,000 Points-Based Grant through the Clean Energy Communities (CEC) Program. This grant will be used to fund additional clean energy projects in the county, further reducing the county’s carbon footprint and increasing sustainability efforts.

Listen to kids who want more than technology

If you think all middle school age youngsters only want to lounge around in isolation and are obsessed with smart phones, Youtube videos, and gaming systems, you have the wrong impression. If, however, you think they are interested in congregating, being active, socializing, learning new skills, and thinking about improving their own communities, you would be on the right track.

America Saves Week 2023: ‘A Financially Confident You’

Join Cornell Cooperative Extension of Yates County as we celebrate America Saves Week (Feb. 27-March 3) with the theme of A Financially Confident You. Over the past few years, America Saves has been exploring what it means to be financially confident. As we’ve talked to both Savers and mission-aligned partners, we’ve been able to define the emerging phrase as this: Financial confidence is the intersection of building a savings habit, knowing what resources you have available to support your financial stability, and taking advantage of those resources as needed.
