YATES COUNTY - In response to the number of serious vehicle vs. horse & buggy crashes in recent years, the New York State Dept. of Transportation has approved a traffic study in Yates County that will be performed by David Murnan of Parsons Transportation Group.
KEUKA LAKE — Property owners around Keuka Lake may be noticing some changes in the impact of stormwater runoff now that work has begun on projects aimed at reducing the flow of phosphorus into the lake.

The Yates County 2023 Natural and Recreational Resources Grant seeks projects from both local governments and private organizations that not only look to preserve unique landscapes and areas, but also projects that provide interactions and experiences with those natural wonders.

YATES COUNTY - As more people make travel plans to celebrate with family and friends this year, the American Red Cross asks donors to set aside a time to give blood or platelets for patients waiting for care over the holidays. Throughout the season, several factors can disrupt the ability of the Red Cross to collect enough blood for patients across the country.
PENN YAN -- Starshine, Penn Yan’s traditional holiday opening event escaped the wind-driven rain that threatened to dampen celebrations last Saturday, Dec. 3. The Penn Yan Community Chorus will present its first Winter Concert in three years on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 2 p.m. The concert will be held at the First Baptist Church, 224 Main St. in Penn Yan, and a reception will follow in the Great Hall.
