‘108 Holes for Hearts’ – A Hole-in-One!
The second annual Finger Lakes Health Foundation’s virtual 108 Holes for Hearts golf challenge was a huge success, raising more than $22,000 for Finger Lakes Health (FLH) cardiology services, programs, and patient financial aid. FLH offers local, world-class, comprehensive cardiology care, including non-invasive diagnostics, treatment and education, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Drug Take Back Oct. 29
Saturday, Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Yates County Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration will give the public an opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.

Athena ACE Scholarships awarded
PENN YAN, GENEVA — Tracy Marchionda, of Penn Yan, and Cassie Henry, of Geneva, are this year’s Athena A.C.E. (Award for Continuing Education) Scholarship recipients. Cassie and Tracy were each awarded $2,500.00 toward their educational programs beginning this Fall.

Yates County to reduce property taxes
YATES COUNTY -- The proposed 2023 budget meets the budget guideline issued by the Yates County Legislature to stay within the property tax cap increase allowable amount of $1,701,930 or 10.30%. The result is a property tax levy of $15,908,606, a reduction of $611,066 over the 2022 levy.
