Seneca fishermen refute environmentalist accusations of Greenidge

SENECA LAKE – Greenidge Generation recently released information from a group of local Seneca Lake area residents who are rebutting recent statements made by interest groups. EarthJustice and Seneca Lake Guardian recently began to spread their claims about Greenidge, accusing the facility of causing harm to water quality and aquatic life.

Open House and Apple Fest, Oct. 8 – 9

MIDDLESEX The artisans of the Rochester Folk Art Guild announce that their Fall Open House and Apple Festival will be 12 noon to 5 on Saturday, October 8 and Sunday, Oct. 9. Many in the area wait for this weekend to enjoy the special welcome extended by this long-standing community. Craftspeople in the various studios are glad to speak with visitors about their creations. The workshops and East Hill Gallery are all set up with new work, there is apple cider fresh pressed in the yard, and organic fruit is available to taste and take home. This is a favorite family event, with self-guided tours of the farm and orchards available.

Naples Library expansion to begin

Community Q&A Event Thursday, Sept. 29 at 6 p.m. in the Naples Library, 118 S. Main Street, Naples NAPLES -- The Naples Library Board of Trustees and staff say that construction is set to begin on the Naples Library Accessibility and Expansion Project this fall. Thanks in part to substantial funding from a State Aid for Library Construction Grant, this $1.3 million project will transform our community library into a space with increased accessibility for all patrons and visitors, and will also include much needed upgrades.

Visibility is the key to safety on rural roadways.
