October Workshops at ACYC

PENN YAN -- The Arts Center of Yates County has scheduled the following workshops for October. All are offer at the ACYC at 127 Main St., Penn Yan unless otherwise noted. ACYC members are eligible for discounted course fees.

Open House and Apple Fest, Oct. 8 – 9

MIDDLESEX The artisans of the Rochester Folk Art Guild announce that their Fall Open House and Apple Festival will be 12 noon to 5 on Saturday, October 8 and Sunday, Oct. 9. Many in the area wait for this weekend to enjoy the special welcome extended by this long-standing community. Craftspeople in the various studios are glad to speak with visitors about their creations. The workshops and East Hill Gallery are all set up with new work, there is apple cider fresh pressed in the yard, and organic fruit is available to taste and take home. This is a favorite family event, with self-guided tours of the farm and orchards available.

At St. Mark’s, we have so much to be grateful for. Our new priest, Columba Salamony, has energized our parish and our spirits so much more than we could have expected. As many have watched flowers and gardens wilt and struggle through the drought of the summer, only to be revitalized by the rains of the last weeks, so has our parish. We don’t know how much we might have been doing activities by rote, but Columba’s spirit has revitalized us like the rains on the gardens.

U.S. News & World Report included the College in its 202223 list of the 175 best colleges and universities in the North region, which includes New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Connecticut, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Maine.
