Middlesex Hose Co. Roast Beef Dinners return Sept. 24

Show your support for the important work volunteer fire companies do in keeping rural America safe by joining the firefighters and auxiliary of Middlesex Hose Co. for the return of their monthly roast beef dinners. After being on hold for almost three years, the famed Middlesex Hose Co. Roast Beef Dinners are returning this fall with their first dinner scheduled for Sept. 24.

New FLCC and SUNY Geneseo cooperative admissions

SUNY Geneseo and Finger Lakes Community College ceremonially signed an agreement on Aug. 29 to establish a cooperative admission program, allowing FLCC students to seamlessly transfer to Geneseo without an additional application. The agreement, which goes into effect during the fall 2022 semester, applies to psychology, education, accounting, biology, history, and sustainability studies majors.

How the Rape Crisis Service of Yates County began 40 years ago

YATES COUNTY — The origins of the Rape Crisis Service of Yates County begin with an unsolved sexual assault of a 10year-old child on April 29, 1981 in the Town of Middlesex. “The parents were involved in seeking victim services, which did not exist at the time. This became the catalyst regarding victim services being developed in Yates County,” recalls Yates County Sheriff Ron Spike.
