FINGER LAKES - It's finally spring and area duffers are eagerly warming up for golf season. Again, this year, they are invited to put all that time on the greens toward a good cause: Golfers of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in the 108 Holes for Health Challenge, the annual virtual, season-long outing benefiting UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health.

After a recent visit with a few members of the Yates Community Endowment committee, I left thinking, "These folks really like to share their wealth!" The best thing is, they have found a way to bring many thousands of dollars to Yates County organizations that make life better for residents. Well, just so you know, their kind of giving isn't something that is reserved for the very wealthy.

Registration is now open for the 2025 Tour de Keuka, a scenic charity bike ride around Keuka Lake that benefits United Way of the Southern Tier. Celebrating its 20th year, the ride will take place on Saturday, Aug.
PENN YAN - Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan is a community hospital that was built and named by its founders in the years following World War I to commemorate those from Yates County and the region who served in our nation's military. Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital Auxiliary continues that tradition with the annual "Remember and Honor Those Who Served" initiative.
