Gary David Skinner, 76, of North Myrtle Beach passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 18, 2022, after battling complications from a stroke and cancer. Gary was born on Aug ust 22, 1946, in Lyndonville, N.Y.

Roger Winfield Knapton

Roger Winfield Knapton, 99, of Penn Yan passed into the presence of the Lord on Saturday, September 17, 2022. Roger was born on April 2, 1923, to Warren and Mary (Daines) Knapton of Penn Yan. He was a graduate of Penn Yan Academy and entered Alfred University and received his A.A. Roger married Mary Orsley of Penn Yan on August 2, 1943. They both are graduates of Practical Bible Training School (Davis College), Johnson City, N.Y. Roger received his B.A. from John Brown University, Ark.; he worked on his B.D. degree from Central Baptist Seminary in Kansas City, Kan. Roger received his Honorary Doctorate from Davis College May 13, 2017. He was ordained to the ministry on December 17, 1950, and served the Southern Baptist Convention as Pastor in churches in New Jersey, New York, and the six New England states. Roger participated in many evangelistic crusades and revivals in England, Scotland, Russia, Ukraine, Mexico, India, and Turkey from 1972-1998. He and his wife started and or pastored eight churches in New York, Oklahoma, and Kansas. His last and final church was the Clyde Baptist Church in Clyde, N.Y., where even at the age of 80-90 years, he and many were instrumental in establishing a FREE 2nd Hand Closet for those with needs. Roger enlisted many teams from churches, mostly from the southern states to build, renovate and maintain church buildings. During his years of ministry with the Southern Baptist Convention, he served as President Emeritus of the NY Baptist Foundation, President of the Baptist Convention of NY, and Trustee of the Southern Baptist Mission Board. Roger had a keen whit and engaging personality, never complaining. He loved to garden and worked tirelessly every day, even into his 90’s. Roger’s dedication to his Lord is indication of his life-long service for Him. Roger is predeceased by his wife Mary and his brothers, Gerald (Audrey), and Leland (Ruth). John R. Hurrin (“Jack”)

John R. Hurrin (“Jack”) was born September 21, 1935. He passed away in his home on Monday, September 19, 2022, at age 86 after battling cancer for several years. He leaves his wife of 66 years, Gail; children, Debbie Wood and Sue Fiske; grandchildren, Greg (Kacy) Wood, Mitchel (Jess) Middlebrook, and Shannon (Colton) Tinsmon; great-grandchildren, Carter Wood, Brody Wood and Maisyn Middlebrook. Jack grew up in Penn Yan, served in the US Navy, and retired from RG&E. He enjoyed summers at his cottage on Keuka Lake and spending time with his family. He enjoyed volunteering his time at the Henrietta Food Pantry. He was a calming presence who shared his many talents with his family. He will be greatly missed by everyone. Family and friends are invited to call, 10-12, Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services (3325 Winton Rd S). Jack’s memorial service will begin at 12 noon in the Interfaith Chapel of the funeral home. Interment will be private.
