Repeatedly in this column over the past six years, ever since the approval in 2019 of the all-Democrat climate agenda known as the "Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act" (CLCPA), I have shared warnings – my own and those of many others – that New York State is going too far, too fast. O'MARA: 'Local Roads Are Essential'

Approaching final negotiations over a new state budget, it's critical to begin stressing that this year's budget must address the right priorities – and one of the top priorities, in my view, is the future of our local roads and bridges. It's a priority that I and local Assemblyman Phil Palmesano, together with many of our Senate and Assembly colleagues regionally and statewide, have long worked to strengthen.

GUEST ESSAY On Penn Yan's response to the annexation denial

In their response to Milo's rejection of the Old Route 14A annexation, the Penn Yan Trustees and Planning Board failed to reflect on their own failures in advancing this important proposal. I am a neighbor of the proposed annexation and wrote a letter tentatively supporting it, yet my letter also highlighted the poor quality of the information provided to citizens.
