Football Sept. 9 Penn Yan/Dundee 31, Lyons/Sodus 24 In the first game of the season for both teams, PY/Dundee beat Lyons/Sodus by a touchdown. PYD quarterback Carter Earl went 6/10 with 42 passing yards, throwing for two interceptions in the game. On the running game, Nick Slavick had 12 carries for PYD, for a total 116 yards and a touchdown, while Earl had 13 carries of his own, running the ball into the endzone twice. PYD’s defense was led by Jon Bell with five tackles on the day, while the Mustangs had sacks from Bryant Van Housen, Anthony Sciallo and Reed Bouchard. Sciallo and Van Housen also grabbed a fumble each, with Van Housen capitalizing and running it back for a TD.

Penn Yan Academy Athletic Hall of Fame

The Penn Yan Academy Athletic Hall of Fame Committee was established in 2010, with the first class of inductees entering the Hall of Fame in September of 2011. The goal of the Hall of Fame is to recognize individuals and teams that have made significant contributions to the Penn Yan athletic program. In recognizing these teams, athletes, coaches, and contributors, the Hall of Fame helps to connect today’s student-athletes to their predecessors and create a deeper understanding of Penn Yan Academy’s rich athletic history.

Sept. 2 Penn Yan 3, Marcus Whitman 0 Penn Yan swept Marcus Whitman in the season's first game for both teams. All three of Penn Yan's goals were scored by David Reid, with assists from Carson Nagpaul, Landon Berry and Zack Townley. Carson Miller made 17 saves for Whitman, while PY's Thomas Barden made two.
