Repeatedly in this column over the past six years, ever since the approval in 2019 of the all-Democrat climate agenda known as the "Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act" (CLCPA), I have shared warnings – my own and those of many others – that New York State is going too far, too fast. Statewide Burn Ban in force until May 14

Last week, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Acting Commissioner Amanda Lefton announced the annual statewide ban prohibiting residential brush burning begins March 16 and runs through May 14. Since 2009, DEC has enforced the annual brush burning ban to prevent wildfires and protect communities and first responders during heightened conditions for wildfires.

Registration now open for Celebrate Service… Celebrate Yates

KEUKA PARK — Celebrate Service… Celebrate Yates, a day of service organized by Keuka College and the Yates County Chamber of Commerce, will be held on Sunday, April 27, and volunteers are invited to take part. Now in its 26th year, CSCY is an annual day of community service aimed at helping non-profit organizations, agencies, and citizens throughout Yates County.
