Arbor Day Observations

PENN YAN – Yates County added Arbor Day to their schedule of Bicentennial celebrations by formally dedicating the planting of a Wagner Apple tree at the Yates County History Center on Chapel St. The now rare apple tree was sourced from a heritage tree repository in Ithaca.

Remembering John Blair

MIDDLESEX – Saturday, April 22, the Gu-Ya-No-Ga Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution held a ceremony to honor the memory of Private John Blair, a Revolutionary War Veteran, at his grave in Pine Corners Cemetery, located on Gray Road, just off Rte. 245 between Rushville and Middlesex.
