Penn Yan Action Coalition to hold 4th annual Community Read

The members of the Penn Yan Action Coalition (PYAC) would once again like to invite the community to join us in reading and discussing books on current topics surrounding immigrant experiences in our country. For the first time, we are recommending two very different books: Beautiful Country: A Memoir of an Undocumented Childhood by Qian Julie Wang, and/or Go Back to Where You Came From: And Other Helpful Recommendations on How to Become American by Wajahat Ali. They are available at Longs’ Cards & Books on Main Street in Penn Yan for $14.99 each, or for $13.99 each if you purchase both. You may choose to read either or both; PYAC’s members consider both titles very much worth discussing, and hope they will provoke stimulating conversation on their distinct styles and on the ideas they present.
