PLAYER PROFILES Anthony Sciallo

Anthony Sciallo (Senior) is a Penn Yan athlete with a respectable resume when it comes to athletics. Sciallo was involved in a championship winning football team, as well as having successful seasons in both Indoor and Outdoor track, with him winning the sectional title for discus this year with a throw of 140 ft.

PYA wins both Section V lacrosse titles!

June 2, Class D Boys Finals (#1) Penn Yan 19, (#3) Bloomfield/Honeoye 6 While it isn't fair to say that Penn Yan Academy had an easy stroll through this year's Section V Championships, the Mustangs certainly made it look easy. In their three Sectional games, the Mustangs scored 19 points in each while holding their opponents to a single digit score.

State Wrestling Champion Peyton Mullin honored by NYS Senate & Assembly

DUNDEE - -State Assemblyman Phil Palmesano and Michael Rogers, Director of Community Relations for State Senator Tom O'Mara, visited Dundee Junior-Senior High School to pay tribute to girls state wrestling champion Peyton Mullin, who earlier this year won her second consecutive state title in the 235-pound weight class Feb. 25 at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Girls Invitational State Championship at the MVP Arena in Albany.

Penn Yan Youth Lacrosse

The Penn Yan Boys First and Second Grade Youth Lacrosse continued their impressive season this week beating Bloomfield twice and Bath once. Then on Sunday, May 18th they split the squad up into two teams for the Lich-Dlugosh Memorial Lacrosse Tournament hosted by Pal Mac.

Nominate candidates for PYA Athletic Hall of Fame

PENN YAN - Nominations are currently being accepted for the PYA Athletic Hall of Fame, which recognizes teams, individual athletes, coaches, and significant contributors for their outstanding athletic accomplishments or contributions to the Penn Yan Academy athletic program. Nominations will be accepted through June 15 and will be reviewed and voted on by members of the Hall of Fame committee.

BOYS LACROSSE April 15 Penn Yan 19, Cortland 3 The Mustangs continued their undefeated streak with a fourth game, dominating the Cortland Purple Tigers this time around. PYA put up five unanswered goals in the first quarter alone, with their biggest scoring drive in the second, where they scored nine to Cortland's one.
