KEUKA PARK — Keuka College senior goalie Dylan Hoad (Bath-Haverling) was named the Empire 8 Conference’s Men’s Lacrosse Co-Goalie of the Week on Monday. It is the second consecutive week that Keuka College Men’s Lacrosse has garnered conference honors with Devon Gerhardt (Penn Yan Academy) being named Empire 8 Co-Player of the Week last week.
KEUKA PARK — The Keuka College Men’s Lacrosse team earned their first win of the season, defeating Thiel College 16-8 March 11 afternoon at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex. Devon Gerhardt (Penn Yan Academy) led all players with nine points as the sophomore scored four goals and added five assists for Keuka College (1-1, 0-0 Empire 8).
PENN YAN - The Penn Yan Racquet Club hosted its first ever retro “Woody Tournament” March 4 at their indoor facility on Elmwood Ave. A group of enthusiasts went back in time to play with wooden racquets, white tennis balls, and dressed in all-white attire.
KEUKA PARK — Keuka College sophomore Devon Gerhardt (Penn Yan Academy) was named Empire 8 Men’s Lacrosse Co-Player of the Week on Monday. Gerhardt opened the season with the Wolves on Wednesday, posting a goal and an assist, as Keuka College lost to Lycoming College 14-6.
Mar. 1 Class C2 Semifinals (#4) Dundee/Bradford 69, (#1) Lyons 57 The BraveScots took down C2’s #1 seed, beating Lyons by 12 in Canandaigua and securing their place in the C2 Finals against Pavilion (#3) for a shot at the Sectional title.
KEUKA PARK — The Keuka College Women’s Basketball team has a rich tradition of strong academic performance. That tradition continued as Katie Deatherage, of Marcus Whitman, was among four Wolves who were named Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators.
Feb. 21 Class B2 (#9) Penn Yan 54, (#8) Williamson/Marion 43 The Mustangs won their first game of Sectionals, beating Williamson/Marion by 11.
Bowling Feb. 14-17 Section V Championships Class C Boys Team Scores: Newark 5,645; Waterloo 5,598; Penn Yan 5,412; Genesee Valley 5,339; Midlakes 5,234; Wayne 4,652; Sodus/Williamson 4,488; North Rose-Wolcott 4,419 PYA’s Colin Johnson got the high game of the day with 266. Johnson was also named to the All-Tournament Team.
MIDDLESEX – The Rochester Folk Art Guild will offer a series of fiber arts workshops beginning Feb. 26 and running through April 2.
